Offbeat High-Altitude Himachal
Manali is a high-altitude Himalayan resort town in India’s northern Himachal Pradesh state. It has a reputation as a backpacking center and honeymoon destination. Set on the Beas River, it’s a gateway for skiing in the Solang Valley and trekking in Parvati Valley. It’s also a jumping-off point for paragliding, rafting and mountaineering in the Pir Panjal mountains, home to 4,000m-high Rohtang Pass.
Sissu is a small town in the Lahaul valley of Himachal Pradesh in India. It is around 40 km from Manali and located on the right bank of Chandra river. It is located at 32°29′0″N 77°7′0″E. It is 3,120 m above sea level. It is 14 km from Koksar to the south-east and 11 km. west to Gondhla.
Keylong is the administrative headquarters of the Lahaul and Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh, India. Sitting at an elevation of 3,080 meters (10,105 feet) on the banks of the Bhaga River, it is an important stopover on the Manali-Leh Highway, located just 71 km north of Manali via the Atal Tunnel.
