Haridwar is an ancient city and important Hindu pilgrimage site in North India’s Uttarakhand state, where the River Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills. The largest of several sacred ghats (bathing steps), Har Ki Pauri hosts a nightly Ganga Aarti (river-worshipping ceremony) in which tiny flickering lamps are floated off the steps. Badrinath is a town and nagar panchayat in Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is a Hindu holy place, and is one of the four sites in India’s Char Dham pilgrimage. It is also part of India’s Chota Char Dham pilgrimage circuit and gets its name from the Badrinath Temple.
Mana is a quaint Himalayan village in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India, located on the banks of the Saraswati River at an altitude of 3,200 meters. Situated just 3 km from the renowned Badrinath Temple, it is officially recognized as India’s “First Village” (formerly known as the “Last Indian Village”) due to its proximity to the Indo-Tibetan border.
