Ahmedabad, in western India, is the largest city in the state of Gujarat. The Sabarmati River runs through its center. On the western bank is the Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati, which displays the spiritual leader’s living quarters and artifacts. Across the river, the Calico Museum of Textiles, once a cloth merchant’s mansion, has a significant collection of antique and modern fabrics

Modhera is a village in Gujarat, India, globally renowned for its 11th-century Sun Temple and for being India’s first 24/7, 100% solar-powered village. Located on the banks of the Pushpavati River in the Mehsana district, it blends spectacular historical architecture with modern, renewable energy technology.

Patan is a city and headquarters of Patan district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Patan was the capital of Gujarat’s Chavda and Chaulukya dynasties in medieval times. During Gujarat Sultanate, it was the capital from 1407 to 1411. Patan was established by the Chavda king Vanaraja.

Ambaji Temple, located in the Arasuri Hills of Gujarat’s Banaskantha district, is one of the 51 sacred Shakti Peethas. Millions of devotees visit annually to worship the holy Shree Visa Yantra—a geometric representation of the Goddess—as no physical idol is housed in the main shrine.
