The Bhimbetka rock shelters are an archaeological site in central India that spans the Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods, as well as the historic period. It exhibits the earliest traces of human life in India and evidence of the Stone Age starting at the site in Acheulean times.
Sanchi, located 46 km from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, is a renowned UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its ancient Buddhist monuments, including the Great Stupa commissioned by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE. It represents a significant pilgrimage center, featuring, stunning toranas (gateways), early monasteries, and stupas.
Ujjain is an ancient city beside the Kshipra River in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. An important Hindu pilgrimage destination, it’s known for the centuries-old Mahakaleshwar Temple, a towering structure with a distinctively ornate roof. Nearby, Bade Ganesh Temple houses a colorful statue of Ganesh, the elephant-headed Hindu deity. Harsiddhi Temple features a pair of tall dark pillars studded with lamps.
